I purchased Harley's fork deflectors. DK Customs to my knowledge doesn't make fork deflectors. They make cooling wings that mount to the crash bars and front tank mounts.

We do not make fork fangs. We considered it, but it is contrary to our goal of improving performance. On 07-up Touring models, heat is a real issue for engine longevity and performance. Fork Fangs increase engine heat by a solid 25*.
Instead, we have a combination of a Tank Lift and Cooling Deflector Wings that Decrease engine heat by 25*. They also reduce buffeting almost as well as the fork fangs (about 75%).
The CDW's mount only to the tank mount points (with or without a tank lift), they do not mount to the engine guards.
I have CDW's in black and they are barely noticeable. Also have the JES fangs installed. have been making some runs in 90+ weather with and without the fangs. Buffeting is definitely decreased with the fangs on the forks. Just the CDW's decreases the buffeting by about 40-50%. compared to the fangs. The difference in ET on my Power Vision is maybe 5-10 degrees compared to just the CDW's and with both deflectors.
I use these short fangs, stop buffeting like the long ones but let more air past to cool me.
For buffeting control nothing works as well as fangs.
I don't watch engine temp, never had a problem. http://www.street-glide.com/index.html
