Default Buying new Bike & trading in

Hi to all.
Rain day in southern Ontario.....
so I'm close to making a contact for a new Limited ( last bike ?lol).
Trading in 2011 limited.
So here's the ?
1-How much bolt on chrome accessories have any of u removed before trading in ?
If any ?
2-does the dealer remove some before it hits the showroom ( lets have the new guy create what they like) lol more high margined sales.
Appreciate any thoughts/ comments
cheers

Whenever I've sold, I remove as much of the "extras" I've installed and sold that stuff on eBay. The dealer will give you next to nothing if left on the cycle. Often, if I've removed a stock part and installed a replacement upgrade I have removed the upgrade and re-installed the original stock part.

If you're trading for a M8, most of the accessories will not fit anyway. If you can sell them, I'd replace everything I could with your stock parts. After I trade, the former bike is dead to me. I couldn't care less what they do with it.

Remove it all and sell separately. Give them a bare bones stock bike. Dealers will often tell people the trade in value does not go up because of accessories and chrome. Then they will list the bike with a price that doesn't include the accessories and have a comment with the picture of the bike "accessories shown can be purchased for discount."

Rain day in Eastern Ontario too. Go to the garage, open a beer, and start replacing all the extras with stock parts. Dealers won't give you anything for it but love to advertise them when they list the bike. Sell them on Kijiji or Ebay if they won't fit the new ride. You paid for them so get back what you can.

Like others have said strip it all off, dealer is not going to give you anything for them. Think about it, the dealer wants to sell the new buyer accessories, so there is no incentive for the dealer to pay you more if there are extras.....

When I traded my 09 Ultra (which I bought all blinged up) for a new 16 Limited the dealer said to transfer anything I wanted, as it wasn't going to change the trade in value. So like other's have said, if you have the stock parts, put them back on and put the upgrades on e-bay. Every stock part that has come off the Limited has been boxed up and will be saved for when and if I trade it / sell it, to be put back on. I feel selling the upgraded parts will be easier than selling the stock parts.

I take off most of the usable stuff for the new ride and rest of it just let new owner enjoy it dealer doesn't keep anything to them it's all worthless.
