I used to work with a guy that met a chick at a bar one night. They went back to her place. He strips down, she points at Him and starts laughing uncontrollably. He asks what's the matter. She says "Who you think you gonna please with that little thing?"
He replied "Me".

I got the Yaffe 12" on my EG and the hands ARE above the faring and DO get cold......BUT, it's where I am comfortable. I thought about the 10's but they were still still low to get my spine where it needs to be.
Bought heated gloves!

I had the H-D touring "pullbacks" on my '00 Ultra for years and I loved them.
When I first sat on my '13 CVO Ultra I knew that I could not tolerate the stock bars and after one 500 mile trip my thoughts were confirmed.

I had the WO's 577's installed and I really like them but I do need to make a slight adjustment (pull the back towards me a couple of inches) tp fit me correctly.
They do place my hands above the "break" of the fairing, however, my bike does have heated grips, and I also have heated gloves.
I've used National City hand wind deflectors on my bikes for many years.
I had a friend paint the inside of the deflectors gloss black and with a couple of fake/knock-off H-D decals they look fairly genuine.
These bars, combined with the CVO rear view mirrors gives an excellent view around and over y hands and arms so no extended stems were needed.

This is why God made gloves . I don't understand why everyone is so afraid to have their hands above the fairing. If you're that concerned about it you probably don't ride in cold/bad weather anyway.

Thank you all for your feed back. And Keithhu I am not afraid to get my hands in the wind. I ride my bike daily right up until that close to freezing mark and go to work at 4 a.m. Have lots of deer in my area among other wild life and cold fingers is not high on my priority list to worry about, I do have gloves, I do have full leathers, I do have bibs. I prefer not to wear my heavy leather gloves if I don't have to. I also don't really like having large bugs hit my knuckles when it is warmer out. That is why I bought a bike with a large fairing. Again thank you all for your input.

I put 12" on my 07 FLHTC and they are above the fairing, here it's not as cold as up north but the winter riding gets sort of cold. Heated gloves fixed that, other than that regular leather gloves do fine. I don't think Ten niches would be high enough for me. I am six foot one inch tall....

If you're still unsure, ask the wife.

OP; Lots of good insight here and IMO you should go for "comfort" first vs. wondering where your hands end-up. Put bike on jack, or have someone hold it up, get in riding position, close eyes and hold hands where they're most comfy...from that point, measure for height. Then you'll have the correct bar measurement vs. just picking a # and guessing. As far as wind is concerned, Keithhu has it covered...good set of gloves and/or heated gear. Enjoy & ride-on!

get a wire hanger or 2 actually. bend them like handle bars to where your comfortable have your wife or someone there with a tape and that's how you figure what bars to get. any bar manufacture has this on there website. this is the only thing I would base your decision on
