2008 Ultra, was riding around 80 to 90 mph in the rain when Cruise Control Failed and motor lost power like one of the cylinders stopped working. I pulled over and shut it off cause it looked like I lost most of my oil pressure. A few minutes later, I started it back up. It had full power again but with a service engine soon light ( the yellow engine.) Now I have the light and the Cruise Control no longer works.
Check the TPS sensor on the throttle body. These are notorious for having the connectors fret and corrode. If it does it will send your bike into limp mode. After you clean it put dielectric grease in the connector to help keep the moisture out. I had this very issue on my 2009 on several occasions.

^^^^^ yeah that above.
Same thing happened to my 2010 except I was going 55 in the sunshine! Guess we both live on the wild side!
2008 Cruise control is designed to cut off above 85. If you were going 85, then went down a slight grade, it will disengage itself. Surprised nobody has said that yet. Mine won't engage above 85..... none of them will.
