Wife and I were riding in the left lane on the interstate this morning and a cager came up on me. trafic was a little heavy in front of me. I drifted from the left tire track in my lane to the greasey spot in the center and WTF! This BOZO is passing me on the left!!! His left tires is in the grass and his right is in the left tire tracks of the left land on the interstate!!! There is a semi on my right. Luckly the truck driver saw it and pulled over to give me more room. Where is a cop when you need one??? My pants cleaned up without to much fuss. Dan
Man, that sucks. I,too, wish a cop had seen it. Could you have gotten his take number and called 911? Some idiot people just don't respect a bike it seems.
Glad to hear you made it out of that bad situation OK. I get the feeling that a lot of cagers think we should yield to them for some dumb reason. Maybe becuase we are smaller than the cage? I don't know what their thinking is, but I ain't liking it. Thinking about a paintball gun to carry with me. "How do like me now" [sm=shootshoot.gif]Have fun cleaning your car.
Paint ball gun? I keep a .38 in my boot for just such an occasion. Although, I doubt I would have been able to reach it, with both hands on the handlebars. BUT, still would have been a thought. Glad all turned out okay. Just once, I want to put an @ss like that on two wheels. Let him ride in our boots one time, and he will stop that kind of ****.
Lotsa @ssholes out there for sure. Last night I'm heading North on abusy 55 mph 2 lane,I see a car stopped on the shoulder of the Northbound lane ahead of me but its facing me. She was originally heading South and pulled over to let a passsenger out and rather than use the driveway she just pulled over in the opposite direction and lets her friend out on the street side while shes stopped in the shoulder in the wrong lane. Now if this isn't stupid enough for the both of these two as I'm approaching I drop a gear to let the exhaust rip a bit, (in case my 3 bright lights aren't enough)cover the front brake asI approach and its looks like I'm going through then she will go back to her WHATTHEFUKKKKKKKKKKKK ARE YOU THINKING YOU STUPID CMNT!!!!! Just that quick. She rips in front of me in the opposite direction in my lane. You know what?? I AM A GOOD RIDER to miss this idiot on my big Electra Glide at 40 mph+> She tore *** away and thats the best thing that could have happened. If I would have caught her it would have ended up with me lookingat criminal charges and looking for a job and a lawyer etc etc. I didn't get scared at all but PLENTY pissed.
Most states would take action if you had reported it as soon as possible.
Call 911 and report it as a wreckless / careless/ or possibly a drunk driver (maybe he was weaving) They are really down on drunk driving these days. They will try harder to pull him over and investigate if they believe he's drunk.
Give plate, description of vehicle and male / female driving.
Highway and a mile post (trooper can go back and check the tire marks in grass)
Go to your local DMV (department of motor vehicles) some afternoon and hang around for a couple hours. You'll be shocked at who/what is out there. OMG. Almost enough to make you quit driving anything - two or four wheels!!!!
Couple months ago a teenage girl in front of me STOPPED in the left lane of a highway for no apparent reason.
Last week, on the highway again, a Grandma put here left blinker on in the left lane then proceeded to take the right exit.
Yesterday, I was following some Grandpa on a city street, he looks down and fiddles around - I watch him cross the centerline and hit the curb then come right back and almost take me out.
I live at an intersection with YEILD signs - 90% of drivers totally ignore them and blast right thru like nothing is there - scoots included.
This year alone, after 3000 miles, I've seen four people run red lights or stop signs a second or two before I got there.
And I live in RURAL Wisconsin!!! UFB. Our life is on the line each and EVERY time we ride. Gotta watch out for the other ones.
