A buddy and I went out today and found a long straight country road. He has a 2015 street glide with a 103, stage three and I have a 2003 road king 88 stage 2. Hes pulling about 70 more lbs in running weight than I and I'm a tad heavier than him by about 20 lbs. At 50 and 55 mph with both of us in fifth gear, he can pull me but its very slow. for him to get a good bike length ahead takes about 10 seconds. At 60 mph with him in 6th gear and me in fifth, I can walk him. I'm happy and at lower speeds and lower gears, I can more than hold my own. I have only a canned map from Dynojet and I think his was done when new from the dealer. All in all, I'm happy. I didn't expect to beat him but this little 88 hauls *** against the big bores.
My friend has a 16 heritage 103 HO stage 1.....
My ole 2002 RK with a Andrews 37g cam keeps up with him pretty good. Is he faster why hell yeah but not as much as you would think..........
Stock anything is disappointing to me, but I have not tested an m8 yet.
My 88 RKC with a stage I pulled great. Ran all day long at 80mph and got about 40mpg with only 5 gears. My 103 RKC with a header and slip ons was sporty and fun. My 14 Limited with header and Slip ons is satisfactory.
Gearing change between 88 and 96 engines that rob power to add fuel economy. My cammed 88 night train with bassani road rage would walk all over a buddies 103 HO 15 street bob.

Street Bob dose not have a High Output 103 Rushmore Engine in it as of yet.
My 01 Road King runs stronger with more torque than most any Harley I have been around barring some way overbuilt bikes. Of course it is not exactly stock...
Makes my 96 ci Road Glide look sick and finally tried an M8 today. The M8 is a great ride but the old Road King would smoke it.
