I recently removed my whole abs setup out of my rear bag of my 05 road king police bike. I got a little carried away and even took the little speed sensor looking thing out of the rear caliper that attaches to the rear rotor. Ever since I removed all my abs stuff the speedometer, odometer and self cancelling turn signals don't work. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of how the abs is tied into the speedometer, or something I can try to fix this. I can't find that part anywhere to buy it and at least try to see if that fixes it. Fyi, it has a normal speed sensor that goes to the trans. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried to clean or replace the speed sensor in the trans? Its pretty easy to do and usually does the trick.
The speedo would get the signal from the ABS module because its makes sense when designing the bike. Cars are similar in that the ECU gets the vehicle speed from the ABS module on a network through module communication.
the speed sensor in the trans is fine. It worked fine until I removed the abs, I mean i can try cleaning it but I think it's related to the abs. And unfortunately the stuff was thrown away.. I think I just need to find and hook up the little speed sensor on the caliper and hope for the best. Worst comes to worst, maybe there's a way to rewire it.
I was wondering the same thing. I have heard a lot of guys that say the ABS is the first thing they take off a bike. Never understood the reasoning behind it though.
