Default cam chane breaking

went did about1000kmthis weekend.Guy with a 07 sg started to smoke black and engine light was on.From first evaluation of h-d mecanics its probably the cam chane that broke witch cause the cam to roll on them self.i talked with the mech.,they told me its the second time this happens on 07 engine that was sold from there shop.he told me that its 3 rd one in canada.the bike had 4000 km.I tough 07 were gear driven?anyways ill get feedback on this issue.

No the 07's aren't gear drive. The cams still use the chain just different tensioners than years past. If the chain did break there would have to be another problem. Did you ever see how big them chains are. IMO that would be very hard to break one, unless the chain tensioner failed. [:@]

The chain is very different on the 07's. The 07's use a double plate roller chain, similar looking to a conventional motorcycle drive chain. The earlier models use astronger, multiplate chain similar to the primary chain.
