I'm with you Chris. I've done a few certified iron butt rides. Everything from SS1000 to the 48 states in 10 days. There is a pleasure and satisfaction that comes from setting a specific goal and working hard to achieve it. I'm sure there's a bunch of uncertified 1000 milers out there. I have some friends who did the 50CC and I don't see them listed on the site (maybe they didn't get the witnesses, or receipts or something, I don't know). But I'd be surprised if there's many doing 48 states in 10 days without getting the pin.

There is also great satisfaction in going where the road takes you. One of my favorite rides ever wasn't very far at all. I put a couple of sleeping bags, a tent, and my daughter on the back and said, "You point which way to go and we'll go there."

We went here, and had a great time.

I rode two Hoka Hey’s (2010 and 2011) on a Springer Softail. It’s more about your state of mind than it is about what you ride.

Agreed!! I'm considering the HH, just need to fit into my schedule. Doesn't look like it will happen in 2018 but maybe ...

The year was 1933, my Dad, on his 1932 Indian Scout did ride from New York City to Los Angeles.
I often think what the roads across the Country were like to ride from NYC to LA, and ride a hardtail.

Myself, in the Summer 2006 I took my LowRider to 3 National Parks in 2&1/2 weeks. The only
modifications to my LR were a windshield, heated hand grips, a Sundowner seat, and a sissy bar
with a rack. I had a T-bag on the back seat along with a day bag on top of an overnight bag on
the rack. I even packed a 4 cup percolator for coffee in the mornings.

It Can Be Done

Only been riding a little over a year. Just did 4k miles on a 16 Lowrider with stock seat and detachable windshield. Our last day we did 673 miles to get home. Upgraded to a 17 SG right away. LOL

750 honda k1. Several trips out west. one time 3200 miles in 9 days and camping every night. Damn good trips. Now I have a touring bike and never go more than 150 miles in a day. Age is a bitch. LOL
