I put the Andrews 48 in my 96. A scenario where this cam shines, two Lane road, 65 mph, 6th gear, feet on the highway pegs. Come up to a truck hauling scrap metal, you want to pass, roll the throttle and fly by, no hesitation, no downshifting. It quickly climbs past 100 mph.
I'm still not sure. Keep hearing good things about the 48 and the 26. Which would be better for a 98CI with almost 10:1? Looking for that low end torque.
Do the cam first you may be happy with your gearing. In my opinion it is about the same work and you get new inner cam bearings and a look at your tensioners. If you need a drive belt for the gear change it may be same price.

Assuming a 98ci twin cam with 10:1 CR is a big bore kit, you would have some different cam options vs those of us with stock compression 96s.

Looks really good. 94.5/104.7 is about all anyone can or should expect from a well tuned Stage 2 TC96. I've not seen or read about anyone making more than 95hp with a bolt in cam (doesn't mean it's not been done, but that would be an outlier for sure).
I'd venture to guess that your combo is well optimized and sounds like a blast to ride. Just curious, do you have a graph of the first dyno pull with the Andrews 48 before it was tuned by Mutant Motors? It would be interesting to know untuned vs. tuned results.

The jacked up curve at the bottom was untuned, The bike is tuned slightly rich, Wolfgang told me to swap out he breather to something that allows more cfm compared to the stage 1 I currently have, said I would pick up another 3/4 to 1.5 hp. That was 2 years ago, kinda like the cooler running engine
