Default Lower seat or bike?

I have an 05 ultra classic, I would like to possibly ether get a low profile seat or lower the back an inch.

I know of the HD Reach seat and was looking for opinions on it or other seats to lower the rider.

I found this link for lowering the back of the bike 1" http://www.tj-products.com/index.php has anyone got any thing good or bad to say about them, or have a link to the White Bros lowering kit?

Thanks Ez..

Look on Ebay for Solow Products or search under motorcycles-parts-american and type in lowering kits. Solow makes a very good produce and you can lower your bike up to 1 1/4 inch without worrying about bottoming out. I would also try the reach seat with the lowering kit. I also lowered the front of mine with a "progressive lowering kit"-1 1/4 inch. Made a huge difference.

I am 5'6" and ride an 04 FLHTCI. I went with the harley front lowering kit (1") and the harley rear shocks... Lowered 3/4" .... Be careful going low in the rear if you ride two up... so far the 3/4 is not a problem for us... I then rode to Corbin and did a "ride in appoitment" we had a custom seat made for our body types... This brought the bike to a position that fits me well. I also went with the "chopped" tour pack. I liked the look of the shorter tour pack... It fits the lowered bike look and it keep the wife from loading it up and making it even more top heavy... I tried the kits out there to drop the back an inch but did not like the way they fit or the way the bags had to be "adjusted" to fit... the Harley shocks work great...

I put the Bully 1 1/4" lowering kit on the rear of my Classic Glide and it rides much better and helped me with my reach.I am also 5'6" so I need it as low as possible.I can touch pretty good but would still like to be just a bit lower but don't want clearance issues.Long story short,I can live with it as it is.

would suggest Progressive Shocks an inch or inch and a half lower than what you now have. As far as a seat is concerned, Most of the companies I called including Corbin and Mustang said their seats made you sit just a litle higher because they were higher. I got a Hitchhiker seat from BAR industries and they made it to sit lower and narrower at the front which surprisingly helps with the reach issue quite a bit. I am fairly happy with it, but Clammy really, really loves his and has put far more miles on his than I have on mine. ART

I got a deal on HD low profile shocks that ended up being cheaper than buying White Bros. kit.
Check Ebay for some deals.

Lowered mine with the HD kit, seems to work ok, except when riding 2 up, hitting a bump can cause it to be a little rough.

I used the 1-1/4" lowering kit from Solow (www.solowmotorcycles.com). The kit cost me about $75.00. I opted for this because of the good reviews I read on Solow here. I have also heard, but have no first hand experience, that the shorter shocks from Harley, Progressive, etc. harden the ride. This seems to make sense because they are shorter. They are also about 4 times the cost of the bracket. The shocks will lower you about 3/4". Be aware that you can't do both or you will risk bottoming out the back of the bike. It only takes about 1/2 hour to do. The Solow bracket simply replaces your lower shock mount, lowering it and moving it back 1-1/4".
