Default Air shocks

Bought a 2000 f l h t he put shorter shocks on back. He gave me the originals in a bucket the bucket had oil in it suppose it ran out of shocks that is not good? Any thoughts.

There are directions for replacing the oil in the shocks you can YouTube it or do some searches here. I have not done it but I've read on here many times of people replacing the oil in the shocks and they tell you what kind and weight.

you are right - you should finish by pumping out all the old oil and re-filling. there are a lot of threads on exactly how to do it. some use heavier oil

You can replace the oil in OEM shocks. There are several how to threads on this forum. Use a 1/8" NPT plug to keep more oil from ooping out.

Good informational thread there, but there are good how to threads out there...might have to go back a few years...I used a hydraulic press to do mine, but a Mity Vac is said to work well too.
