so its getting to be back to school time so had to do the kids school shopping last night. im thinking i can make zippered mesh style pencil case work using velcro..... mcguyver pics to come!
Saw somewhere in here that someone used p-clamps on the bolts for holding the saddlebags on to hold their glasses. I wasn't able to use the clamps cuz I have big ***** and it interfered with the clamp. So I found the quick clam ones with 3m tape on the back. Works good!
I also couldn't find a good lid organizer for the 14+ bags so I took a pencil bag (from my kids school supplies) and safety pinned it to the lid tether. Walla. Easy access to smaller items like keys, glasses, can koozie, etc.
I have an '18 SGS and was wondering if anyone is concerned about the bolts coming loose. This organizer goes between the rubber grommet and metal washer, so the click lock mechanism of the bolts doesn't work with these because the washer doesn't have enough friction against the nylon (opposed to the rubber) to lock in. I'm concerned about the bolts coming loose over time.
I can't find it but there was a thread on using a tool apron as a organizer for small stuff.....put it behind the washers securing the bags to the bike...when I got my bike the previous owner replaced the fast connect hardware with bolts.
