I don't think my 07 Ultra Classic has it but now I'm going to go check the owner's manual again to see if I just missed it...
Checked when I got home. All I have is the fuel guage and a low fuel warning light that comes on with "approximately one gallon remaining". No mention of DTE in the manual, which says it is for all 07 Touring Models, at all.
On my 11 limited, the miles to empty meter is way more accurate than the fuel gauge. Coming back from a ride last weekend, gauge pegged at empty when the range meter said 60 miles to go, with just over 200 miles on the tank. Stopped for fuel when range meter said 47 miles to empty. Took 4.9 gallons to fill up, with 215 miles on that tank. 43.x MPG on that run, so pretty damn close.
well, I've pumped 5.9 gallons on a couple of occasions so I would say it's usable to the last tenth of a gallon
Funny me and a buddy did that same exes that thing a couple of years back on a ride to Florida. We were sweating it let me tell you!
I have a very simple system that I like as a backup to the fuel gauge. I average 42 MPG. That times 6 gallons is 240 miles. I set the trip meter every time I fill up and when I get to the 200 mark and over I pick a station I like and top off.

Same here, except I never bothered to look up the quantity the light is supposed to indicate. Filling up right after the light went on, it took about 3.7-3.8 gallons. I go a bit longer now.
Not trying to be dumb but...... I bought an 08 Ultra last fall with no manual. Does this bike have the miles till empty???
You can download the owners manual from the Harley website by inputting your VIN...not certain where it is on the site but chalk around. ..it's there somewhere!
