How many miles on it? My '13 started similar noise worse at start up, at about 50k miles this summer. Driving me nuts too.

It could; as the pistons and cylinders warm-up they expand; i'm guessing they don't expand exactly the same.

I would guess that after things warm up, slap would get worse. Before I did anything, I'd have a mechanic take a listen to it...

Did you check for a crack in the exhaust header where it splits?

I have Vance and Hines Dresser Duals, not stock exhaust. However I have not checked for an exhaust leak like mentioned above

Jeff,
Are you going to tear into your bike yourself and see if you can get this problem figured out or are you taking to shop? I'm just real interested to see what you come up with. My bike went to shop to be fixed but have not heard anything yet.

I am planning on tearing into it myself. I put the big bore kit in it, so I've had it down that far; I'm hoping I don't have to split the cases, but if I do I guess I do. With 76k miles on my bike I know I'm going to have to put some money into it.

Part of me would like to take it to a shop and say fix it..........

Let me know what they find on yours; mine will most likely take some time as schedule is pretty busy the next few week
