1 step forward and 2 steps back. Went out to shop today to try my hand at that o-ring again. Found a nice size puddle of gas and gas dripping out of the quick disconnect. Pulled the tank, set it on bench and got a good look up in there. Looks like I somehow mucked up the inside of the connector while pulling the old o-ring or trying to install the new. Guess I am replacing the whole thing. Gonna replace the fuel filter while I am in there. Most likely the original filter anyway.

Anyone have a good idea on how to drain 4 gallons or so of gas from the tank as it sits on the bench?

Will it drain if you hook the leakie quick disconnect back up?

The male end is still on the bike and hooked up to the fuel injectors.

U can get a cheap siphon hose with a rubber bulb on it to get it started. The hose is 1/4 inch so it takes a while. Walmarts or other should have one. The larger hoses won't fit past the hump in the tank.

It's on the bench, right? Why not remove the fill cap and turn the tank upside down over a Homer bucket?

Took xcbullet suggestion and went this route. Worked perfectly. Glad I decided to change out the fuel filter.

I cared one of these on the snowmobile when I was a guide out west, It came in handy a couple of times, hangs in the shop now, usually use it a couple of times a year.
