Just wondering if anyone has used Harley's LongBlock Program to remanufacture your engine? Just turned 126,000 on my '10 Ultra Classic and my extended warranty ran out, lol. I think it's getting tired and plan to do something major with it next year.
Anyone have experience with their LongBlock Progam?
I had it done on my '05 in 2012. Very pleased. I have a friend who works for HD in Milwaukee, and he said that Harley doesn't actually do the re-build. They ship them off to S&S. I felt comfortable with that. S&S knows a thing or two about engines. .
What 'something major' do you have in mind?! Following John's suggestion of going bigger, S&S offer a 111", 124" or hows about a 143", to end all arguments!!!
I will admit, that I'm one of those guys thats perfectly happy with my 96 and a stage 1. reliability is huge for me, as I do a lot of riding (126k in 7 years). Maybe a 103, though, lol.
And I hate to give up my bike after all the little changes I've made for my own liking. I do like the perk of having the same VIN on the engine as well.
Just hoping that guys have experienced reliability with that program.... ?
Not in the need for it. But, what is the cost and turn around time?
Price list is on the H-D website, under the Owners tab. As for timescales that involves your local friendly dealer removing your old engine and installing your rebuilt one, so I suspect they are best placed to answer that query.

I was just curious what folks experience was, because I don't need it ...yet.
If you're after reliability and keeping you VIN, pretty hard to beat the long block program. That being said, you could have your motor rebuilt as well to 103 by an indy.
