I had an 11 Ultra Limited, traded it in with only the chrome front forks, dealer gave me $17K on trade for a new 14 RK in Oct of 14. if that helps any. I had 19k on it, never gave me any problems.
My advise would be to have a shop check the run-out on the crank. Mine was .012" at 20K miles (upper end of allowable spec per HD), at 60K miles the crank scissored requiring a full engine rebuild.
Not all engines are created equal and mine may be the exception, but if I was buying the bike I would have it checked.
Thanks for the info
I'm hoping to see the bike this weekend and will ask for all service records and if we agree on a price I will take it to a local independent shop.
I've got a 2011 also. I bought year before last with 17K on it. It's at 21K now.
I had to have the stator replaced due to oil seepage around the wire pigtail at the front of the motor. That job meant the primary needed to be taken apart. Covered under extended warranty.
I replaced the wheels with 2010 StreetGlide wheels, (18" front) when I bought new tires. A direct bolt-on. The original chrome contrast "knuckles" wheels had chrome peeling really bad in spots. I've heard it's common if the wheels aren't cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis. Brake dust traps moisture, which gets under the chrome and you get peeling. The stockers are not easy to clean, either.
I installed Rockouts rocker shaft locks over the winter. A fairly easy job. Quieted the lifter noise down. There are threads on the forum detailing how they work.
