Rode it back to the tech today. Turns out it's been leaking for a while and the fluid was collecting between the cable and that mesh sheath which covers it. When doing the cams he sprayed some brake cleaner to clean the area given that cable runs right below the cam cover, that probably is what got it to the point where it dripped on the ground. It's leaking right where the cable is crimped to the fitting, not at the trans itself. I'm not going to mess around trying to silicone it, have a new cable on order.
