Default Oil leak from under trans

Found some trans fluid under the bike this morning, looked underneath and it`s coming from a line that connects at the lower right on the transmission when looking at the side of the bike. Ironically this happened right after getting the bike home from having the cams done, but I can`t see how the two could be connected? Could it be from added pressure or something to do with the new cams? Anyone know what this line is and how tough a fix this would be?

Isn't that your clutch cable? Are you sure it's leaking? Maybe they just didn't clean it up to well. When you pull the CAM cover some oil does come out.

It's not engine oil though, it's trans fluid. I use Redline and it's the pink stuff that's leaking. Seems too coincidental that it happened right after the cams were done but I can't figure how the two would be related.

The tech may have bumped it or what have you when he pulled the pipes to do the cam job.

Simply put a wrench on it and tighten it up, or take it back to the tech.

what he said, lower trans cover bolts, depending on exhaust sometimes have to be loosened to get bracket loose, my guess, trans bolts are not torqued to spec

don't over tighten

I went out and checked again. The cable seems tight where it goes into the transmission, and the trans cover bolts are tight too. I also checked the trans vent tube and it doesn't look blocked. Guess I'll take it back to the tech.

You could just wipe it off and see if it repeats. If it does, then take it to the tech. Has anyone lubed your clutch cable recently?

Had the same problem when I changed handlebars and went with an after market clutch cable. Started leaking where metal and black cover over the cable meet, as the arrow on the picture points out. Cleaned with carb cleaner and applied silicone sealer, no more leak.

No, haven't had the clutch cable lubed, and it's definitely trans fluid that's leaking.

Wow I'm surprised that did it, thought if there was even slight pressure silicone wouldn't do it. You're exactly right, it seems to be leaking not where the fitting goes into the trans, but at the point where the metal fastener joins the black cable. Wonder if a small hose clamp would be a good idea? I wiped it off really well, looked again a few hours later and more fluid had started to appear at that spot even without running the bike.
