Hi - I have a 2007 Ultra Classic w/ 12K mi. and was driving yesterday when the speedometer & tachometer went dead. The check engine, key, & oil lights came on. The 6th gear green light wouldn't come on (but I still have 6th gear). I rode for about mile (had to find a safe place to pull over) before getting a friend w/ a trailer to get me home. Any idea what happened?
....ran out of quarters....lol. electrical issues suck. i agree, start with the fuses but then, that poses the question why did it happen in the first place or what caused the fuses to blow....if in fact they are blown
Do you have any codes? 07 w/so few miles...how's the battery...tight connections?
Any recent mods?
Wash it just b4?
You rode for about a mile to find a safe place to pull over...what was it doing during that time?
Curious...?
Thanks guys. Where are the fuses & how do I check the codes? No recent mods & not washed other than a damp rag wiping dust off. The battery was replaced earlier this summer but I'll check the battery connections. It ran fine for the mile until I could find a place to pull off the road.
I had a similar...almost exact same...issue with my 2006 FLHX...it was the ignition switch. Easy and inexpensive fix...just replaced it. Try wiggling the **** and see what that does...I'll tell you that when it happened to me, I rode it home...no problems, still ran well.

I'm sorry, do you know how hard it is to explain electrical troubleshooting when the inquirer doesn't even know where the fuses are?
It's frustrating but you're new and seem nice so I'll try...
Fuses are under the left side cover. Codes are pulled by a sequence of switch operations and reading the odo screen. You can find the instructions for codes in this forum, on the www and in your Factory Service Manual (FSM). If you don't have an FSM, and I'm assuming you don't, then buy one! It will prove to be the most valuable accessory you will buy.
