Hey guys my 2008 Ultra 24k miles has a vibration you can feel through the bike while driving. I changed the front motor mount and rear wheel bearings but still the same.
While riding, if you pull in clutch and let bike coast with engine on, it's there, but if you shut off engine while coasting, vibration disappears.
So it think it's engine/driveline related. Checked stabilizer links, don't think they're bad.
Any suggestions?
I just went through this, except when you clutch in, it would stop. Couldn't figure it out. Very subtle but it was there.
turned out to be the cross member (not sure that's what its called) plate that connects one side of the frame to the other just under the engine/tranny. Engine was rubbing on it while on decel.Hammered it out and the vibrations gone.....
If the new motor mount was not properly installed, it will cause vibration. It needs to be centered under the hole in the engine support tab. The standard way to verify proper positioning is if the center bolt, holding the engine to the mount, slides easily up and down when the nut is removed. If that was properly done and the mount is right side up, that is not the source of your problem. Something mounted to the engine contacting the frame is the most likely cause.
Bike vibrates even when idling or driving. Seems to vibrate bad at idle too.
Trying to figure out if is a stabilizer link. Motor mount is put in right. Center bolt slipped up and down easy. You can feel the vibration in floorboards and handlebars.
