That's worked fine for me over the last 50 years too! What on Earth is a 'homelink' anyway, is that really just a remote door opener? I'm struggling to see what I may be missing out on!

My experience it depends on the vehicle. My 07 Odyssey is always hot and the BMW 3 series is switched. As far as which is desired it is a preference I guess. In my vehicles always hot is nice but on the bike I prefer switched. I guess because one is enclosed and the other is not. The more things that don’t work on a bike with the ingnitiin locked makes me feel better. Regardless, I just have one extra step to turn the ignition switch on to activate the remote if I needed to use it with the bike off.
