There may be a better time in the next 12 months to sell/trade that RKC. Here are a few reasons:
1. Dealers appear to have a pretty good supply of new '07's on the floor.
2. The '08's are only approx 6 weeks away and I'm guessing there may be some discounting in the near future to move '07 inventory. You may get a dicount on an eglide but you're also going to get a discounted trade in price.
3. Everyone may not be aware the RKC is being discontinued. Demand/prices for used RKC's may increase after everyone realizes there isn't an '08 RKC.
The best scenario is tofinda buyer and then go shopping for an '07/'08 electraglide.
Raffle..... I bought a ticket for a bike a guy was trying to sell. He wanted $8700.00 and was getting no takers. to make a long story short he sold 87 Hot Wheels cars for $100.00 each. He only sold to people he knew or their friends. It was not a public offering. After all were sold (about 3 weeks) everyone was contacted. Those who wanted to be there showed up and everyones name was put in. Someone from the crowd who was chosen randomly picked the winner. I am sure there are a few more leagal details but bottom line is; Who wants to buy a $100 dollar ticket for a $17,000.00 bike when there is 3000 tickets sold? OK,there may be some. But if you only sell 1700 you would not be taking advantage of anyone and you would greatly increase the odds. Just a thought. By the way.... I did not get the bike but my odds were better than any lottery I have ever played and I know I have spent more than $100.00 on that. Good luck
CORRECTION..... brain fart, how about 87 tickets for the 8700 dollar bike and 170 tickets for a 17,000 bike. i thought something didn't sound right after I read it again. My bad.....
I think your dreaming to trade up for 2700. It will never happen. Madison Wi. dealer is closing out all big twins with a 2100. discount. 08s are bound to go up 3-5 percent ( now that the 07 crowd has the bugs worked out of them ). I would say 4-4500 to upgrade. You can buy alot of fairings for that money. With the over production dealers will be discounting 08s before fall.
