Thinking about one for my Road Glide and the fitted luggage that fits inside. Question I have For you guys that run one is about the fitted luggage, Is there any space left once the luggage is put in the pack? is there room for a lid organizer?
the fitted luggage is soft. there is as much room left in the tourpack depending on what you put into your luggage. don't fill the luggage all the way, plenty of room. overstuff it, hardly any room. as far as a lid organizer, shouldn't be an issue. i don't use one, but they do sit pretty flat against the lid, so unless you overstuffed your luggage, should still work fine.
when using mine, i don't zip it shut until i reach my destination. then i zip it, and just lift it out of the tourpack. but while riding, when i stop, i still have access to everything that's in it.
I have one painted to match for my Road King but never thought about any of the extra organizer stuff. For us it is just an additional convenient storage area when necessary. The Mrs does seem to appreciate the additional support/comfort and it is nice to throw things in if a person stops for things such as beer, groceries. The add on stuff is just more money out of my wallet and into Harley coffers but that's just my opinion. That being said I always loathed the screen door hinges and replaced them with chrome but again, my preference.
