Default Adjusting Progressive 444 SD

I'm having issues getting my Progressive 444 SD rear shocks dialed in on my '14 Limited. They felt really good until I replaced the front suspension with Race Tech set up. Now the rear Progressives don't feel as good. How do you get these smoother? Add more or less spring?

I'll be watching this thread close. Just installed 444 standard spring rear shocks on my '15 Limited and really like the feel of it. Gotta upgrade the front forks this winter, but haven't decided on what to go with. Your post makes me wonder if you have a performance mismatch between front and rear. Hopefully not...

Springs support the weight of the bike and you, its the dampers that do the hard work of giving you a smooth ride. Do yours have any adjustment other than spring preload?

Tie wrap on shaft under cartridge. Ride. Check and see where it's at. If it's jammed into the bumper, add a turn of preload. If it's more than 1/8th above the bumper reduce preload by a turn. Repeat.

You adjust the firmness of the shocks by turning the top of the shocks, by hand. No tools are even needed. Counter clockwise will soften the shocks. If it wont turn counter clockwise, turn it clockwise to ensure they aren't on the softest setting already.
