Guys , I don't know how to analyze this dyno sheet to question my fuel consumption.
I had the bike dynoed and it runs well and I'm satisfied with the performance but not with the lower gas mileage (32 mpg). I'm told when I get on it that a lot of black smoke exhausts and reading the plugs they are black but not sooted.
Only thing is I either didn't tell the tech that I installed 551 cams or he didn't note it on the sheet .
I'm hoping one of you experts can give me a little insight of what to do or just accept it as is. Thanks in advance.
I assume this mpg number is for your 2010 FLH. Is it a batwing bike or Road King/windshield? 32 mpg is below average for what your bike is equipped with. The black smoke is also a concern. If equipped with a Dynojet tuner: Make sure you are running OEM spark plugs. I also suggest you contact Jamie @ Fuel Moto and review your issues and dyno chart. www.fuelmotousa.com
Trust what he tells you.
Checkers, Yes it is the '10 King. I didn't post that info as it is at the bottom of the dyno sheet. As I stated the only thing not shown on the dyno sheet is the 551 cams. I do have the stock plugs and was averaging around 47 mpg before the cams and 27mpg after the cams were installed and then 32 mpg after the dyno was done.
Do you think the tech didn't so a good enough job? I didn't wait as my friends and I dropped off the bike and went to lunch while he tuned it.
Notice the AFR between roughly 2700 RPM and 3300. It is well below 13:1
That won't be good for mileage and is right where you will be when cruising on the interstate in 6th gear. I also have 551's in a 2010 FLHX and my interstate mileage averages mid 30's to upper 30's if i slow down some.

47 is what I get on my 2011 RK, Stage 1 with Fp3 and Crusher mellows, external breathers. 32 mpg is low with what you bike is equipped with. Loosing 15 mpg and black smoke I would be concerned with several issues that can create. Carbon build up etc.

Ya. the tech didn't do a good enough job. With FI that AF line should be flat. 11 is pretty rich. On the other hand, you will run cooler.
I really didn't go by the numbers as I've seen on here that most people agree they aren't consistent between different tuners.
I've taken out my buddies 103 softail twice and my other friends built 88 in lowrider . 2 out of three. I'm not disappointed with the performance just the mileage.
