Default Installed Illuminated Passenger Floorboard Covers and can't find the $%£@ing accessory wire

Hi all, I've searched through the historical threads on the forum and can't find the answer.

I've installed some Illuminated Passenger Floorboard Covers on my 16 FLHTKL that connect into a wiring harness which the instructions says for a post-2011 I have to attach a 4 port Deutsche connector to (6 port for Softtails) and then I need to connect this into the Accessory Wire with four pins somewhere under the seat.

Can't find one there with four ports despite looking again-and-again. I don't have any spare ACC switches on my dash, however, only the one for the factory-fitted passing lights. Any clues please, driving me crazy!

Jimmy

On my 2012 ultra it is under the seat. Grey with a black cover on it (IIRC). Mine was folded down on the left of the battery.

In 14 and later, look under the left side cover, there will be two gray connectors for accessories. You will have to buy an adaptor that will plug into that and the other end will split and have 3 wires and another connector to plug in accessories.

Not exactly sure, but think this may be what you need.

Ah, is it the one under the Cambus one that my FuelPack is attached to just under the switches? It's a 6 pin male deutsch.

I got a female 6 pin female deutsch with the kit, I did try that using the middle pins as recommended in the instructions but they weren't live with the ignition on. Is this switched from the dash using the accessory buttons? The only button that appears to operate on the dash is the far left one for the passing lights.

The attached photo is not of my bike, but it's a similar configuration.

If it's not one of these under the fuses in my picture, I think I know what might have happened.

Looking at the specs of the four pin "P&A accessory connector 4A", it has four wires: permanent; switched, ground and brake/running lights. I think the dealership might have already configured the one under the seat for use with the pannier lights/turn signals when they installed the removable TourPack.

Anyone know if this would be the case? I also appear to have some strange molex connector with two pins under the seat, but it's only kicking out around 8.5V.

Check #7 in the picture below. I used a harness from HD that plugged in to that. It gave me 3 wires I could connect to and/or a connector that I could plug into. Both used the same 3 wires. One wire was the ground and the other two wires were “hot”, so to speak. You pick which ONE of the two hots to use... one wire is hot all the time and the other wire is off when the ignition is turned off. Anyways, I think you are looking for #7 in the picture, where your fuel pack is plugged in. Could you plug the harness, from previous poster above, in there and plug your fuel pack in to it, and then use 2 of the 3 loose wires to get power to the new lights?

Check with Custom Dynamics. I am sure they ran into this before. Maybe they have a Y pigtail to run right into the running light/brake wire harness.

Finally sorted - thanks to everyone. Just for reference incase anyone else has this problem:

- You need the Electrical Connection Update Kit (69200722) as mentioned by Magnut1 and confirmed by Roadie13
- You connect this to the grey Auxiliary Device Connector, which on Rushmore models in in position 7 on Ssitruc's diagram
- The Illuminated Passenger Floorboard kit comes with 8 pin and 6 pin deutsch connectors - you actually need a 4 pin to use the Electrical Connection Update Kit. I scrounged a used one from my local dealer
- the feed from Pin 3 and 4 on the Auxiliary Device Connector gave ground and +12V switched on ignition.

Once again, thanks all!
