Default Progressive Drop In front shocks on Street Glide

These look easy as heel to do any any bike but a touring model with a fairing. My question is: What needs to be removed to remove old springs and replace with lowering springs? Not changing fluid, just need to lower bike because I added a 21" front wheel and Im on my tippy toes.

I just added bitchin bagger shocks in the rear, have a low profile seat, which has me almost flat foot, but not completely. Just want more control especially when riding 2 up and being stabile on my feet.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

  1. Remove brake calipers, wheel and fender.
  2. Remove lock cylinder and trim piece.
  3. I've used a large open end wrench (1 1/4 I think) to remove the upper fork caps.
  4. Loosen the fork pinch bolt and slide the fork down a few inches and then tighten the clamp.
  5. Loosen the upper fork cap just a little
  6. Loosen the fork pinch bolt and pull the fork out.
  7. Carefully remove the fork cap (under spring pressure) and remove the sping.
  8. Dump the fluid out, being careful not to dump the diverter valve out. If you do, make sure you put it back in. Ask me how I know this.
  9. Install the springs per Progressive's instructions.
I have the drop ins if you are interested in buying them.
