Thanks everyone for all the good advice, here, I'm sure it will help lots of folks looking for some type of hearing protection. I have used the "foamies" (EAR plugs) but not crazy about them, they're O.K. but muffle out a lot of sound. I owe a local audiologist a favor so I will stop in there and see what they charge for a custom set and if too expensive I'll try some of the plugs recommended on here, thank you again!

Cool

Rob, you may well find that plugs seem too quiet, but do persevere! As mentioned above I've been wearing them for over 40 years and they are the best 'tuning aid' known to mankind! Once you get used to them you will find they work just great and the reduced sensation of NOISE will enable you to ride further, faster and in greater comfort.

WOW! WOW! These things are amazing!
I've been mostly happy with the orange foam plugs, but would definitely be interested in something better. Do you have contact information for your local rider's business? How long did it take them to make them for you?

They have to make a mold of your ear canals while you're sitting there. The good news: They make them while you wait.

The bad news: They're in Spokane, WA.

Honestly, I'd start with a local hearing aid center, or make an appointment with an audiologist.

I don't wear ear plugs when I ride, but I do wear a 3/4 helmet that fits tight enough on my head to block out the wind noise and I just put quite mufflers back on my Road King so I guess I'm good to go now.

If you believe that then you're already deaf! Protect your hearing, there's a good chap - we've known about this problem for 40 years now. Modern helmets are a little better than back then, but they are far from magic.....

For about $80 you can have custom ones made by https://www.fit-ear.com, they are at Sturgis, the International Motorcycle shows, and other rallies.

For years, I was sporting a 1/2 helmet, no ear plugs and loving life. Now, my ears ring/hiss/buzz 24/7. For ear plugs, I currently use 3M, Hearos or Pura-Fit(along with my Schuberth C3 Pro helmet). I emperimented with a bunch of plugs begore finding what works best for me.

Both my father and father-in-law were gunners during WW2 and suffered poor hearing as a result. My father-in-law had the worst hearing of the two and I don't want to live with his experience, hence I do my best to protect mine. I also shoot, but not the big stuff they both used!
