You of all would know the answer to this to sir.
As you sit there with your beer and popcorn... Your thoughts on the issue.
Well, generally speaking if you change just the rear lights to LED a module is not necessary. As pointed out, some bikes require them and others don't. It won't cause damage to try it without.
When I "just" replaced the 1157's on the rear of my SG, all was fine. Once I installed the front ambers, needed the load equalizer. Some of the best and brightest money I have spent.
My brother has CD Turn signals on back of his 2011 Street glide No issues without a module. I also had them on my 2012 Road Glide custom with no module and all worked fine.
I replaced the bulb in my rear brake light with LED and want to go with LEDs in the turn signals. Would I need the equalizer? A lot of folks run LED in just the rear turns without a load equalizer but IDK if adding the brake light would affect that.
if i can replace the 1157 rear lights on my 2010 Street Glide using LED's in the rear without damaging anything or do i have to use some kind of module????
You will not need a module for your bike. If needed and the lights blink fast after installation. Just turn on your hazards for about ten seconds then turn off all good. I have just LED's in the rear signals on my bike without a module. All is fine.
Mine blinked fast upon install and did above no problem. Custom Dynamics said if I install lights on the front signals too, then I would need a module.
this information is correct if you have a rushmore with the can bus system. you have a 2010, which does not have the can bus. are you running leds in the front?if you are, then you will need a signal stabilizer/load equalizer. you can run one set of legs either front or back, with no problems, but you will need the ss if you run both.
a signal stabilizer is not needed for the brake lights.
