Ive decided I don't want to ditch my OEM saddlebags because of the pinstriping that is on them. Local Harley shop had it done before the shop closed so it's become a bit of a nostalgia piece. I was looking and extended bags but they wouldn't match unless I stripped the pinstriping off the rest of the bike.
what are some good extensions, preferably CVO style? I'm looking around but it's hard to tell who makes quality extensions. I don't mind the seam they create... actually kinda like it.
I did the arlen ness package. It comes with extended bags and new rear fender extension. Looks stock, cvo like. I did a new front wheel and and fender. So I painted the side covers to cover the oem stripes. The only oem stripes left run down the tank and on the rear fender. Looks finished.
The MoCo was the first to come out with the saddlebag extensions on a 2009 CVO SCREAMN' EAGLE ROAD GLIDE for one year only.
The MoCo, and a bunch of aftermarket companies are making them. EBay has a bunch of choices and prices to choose from.
IF you have a sold color bike it can be a lot easier to just bike some aftermarket stretched saddle bags for just a tad more. (Especially if your bike is black in color)
Although the MoCo does make them and can be a bit more expensive, you get what you pay for and they will be guaranteed to fit the best.
Since you have some pinstriping on your bags, the photo can give you some idea below.
My bike is solid black and the pinstriping is minimal (I just want to keep it). Looking for a solid black with good quality paintwork to bolt right on. I've seen the eBay and Amazon generic ones and I don't know how much you can trust them for fit and finish. Advan Black has a set up there, but other than that most are no-name. I guess I'm looking for somebody who has bought a good quality set to give a recommendation.
They'll be going on here.
While in Daytona for Biketoberfest, I saw Kuryakn has a new saddlebag extension that comes in black. It has some nice shape to it and fit real tight to the bag, no gaps. I just noticed ur bike is pre 2014, I don't think they have for those years yet, just Rushmore. Sorry for being of no help, lol.
