Default extended saddlebag questions

im looking at gettin saddlebag extensions but i im only wanting the cvo or the bad dad 2". do the bad dad extensions have to be blended or do they leave just a small body line? where did you get your extensions painted and how much was it, without blending? i know prices are different everywhere but i just want a ballpark idea of what to plan for. also any advice from those who have done it?

Pay the extra and get a set of CVO bags from Eastern Performance.
You will get the extra space in the bag and wouldn't think paint costs wouldn't be much more, plus they look a whole lot better than extensions IMO

Thats what I did and very happy

Gotta concur...spend the $350.00 to get the bags and have them painted right. You'll be glad you did!

I agree the Eastern performance CVO bags are a great bargain and IMO look a lot better than extensions. i went with both and always use the bags and not the set with extensions.

If you have a black bike the Matazu extensions come painted vivid black and just bolt on at about 150.00,

I had my eastern performance CVO bags (lower) painted for less than 300 and then you can always sell your stock bag lowers and recoup some $

I'm with these guys^^ Although the extensions sound like a nice practical idea. Most people overlook the fact that after all the body work and paint has to be done to make them look nice, you've spent just as much if not more than buying a nice set of actual extended bags.

You will come out cheaper in the end getting the extended bags vs just the extensions unless you just bolt them to the bags and dont mind the visable line.

The reason I wanted to go with the extensions is that I'm afraid I'll scrape them up too much and with extensions I can always take them off. I drag cornering now on my exhaust tips and sometimes on the floorboards and that's the reason I was looking at the bad dad 2" and the cvo cause they don't go down as far.

Default extensions

These were on the bike when I got it, but plan on full extended bags when I repaint bike in future.

My 2009 CVO Roadie was the first and only model year bike from the MoCo to come with the saddle bag extensions.

I sometimes ride hard but mostly pretty mellow. UNLESS you LOWER your sled REAL LOW, you will never scrape the bottoms. The HD extensions do come with the metal plate underneath for hardcore cravers.

You most likely scrape them more by taking them off to clean your rear tire and rim then canyon craving.

In all honestly, I would go the Eastern Performance route if it were me.
