I really dig the look of extended saddlebags but cannot afford to go that route. If I were to add aftermarket Extensions to my stock bags will the other Harley boys in the playground make fun of me behind my back? Or worse yet, make fun of me to my face?
Since your bike is black, the cheap pre painted black extensions don't look all that bad. Buy what you can afford. What I think looks cheesy is just the extensions with the stock fender. But that's just me.
You can always save and get the extended bags next year.
Yup, they will! LOL!! Just for the record, VTwin CVO bag bottoms are around $350.00. Paint 'em up and use your own hardware. You really can't tell the difference. I even took mine to the local dealership to compare with real CVO bags. Even the parts guys were blown away at the quality.

Thanks RaceFace, that sounds more doable. I've just been seeing the $600-$1,000+ bags and I'm thinking whoa, that can be crazy....but we all know we wind up spending it in the end, anyway.

I felt the EXACT same way with the HD price. Check with Eastern Performance here on the forums. They'll set you up!! They even sell them painted. I had my guy paint mine and he said there was not much prep at all, they're pretty straight directly out of the box. Good quality stuff!!
