Ok maybe I am missing something. In post 26...what is the purpose of reducing the weight. Now I understand why dont get me wrong...but what is the benefit of shaving all the touring stuff off the bagger, why not just start with a dyna or something. Is there something desirable with the frame that I am missing?
Heres a custom setup on mine..... Accutronix Forwards with some modified Burly MX passenger floorboards. Beyond pleased with function and feel of this combo

Why do people modify bikes @ all....??? Because they want to and they can!!! Maybe he wants to pull up on something 25 other guys didnt just ride in on. Why do guys dump thousands into a motor to gain HP that still cant compete with a 20 year old crotch rocket!?!? It Bikes man!!! Not supposed to be logical supposed to be fun!!!
I’m not dumping on anyone.these bikes are super cool and I live the mods. I think you put the wrong tone to my post. Seriously wondering if there I something desirable in the frame or something I am missing. Suspension maybe? It’s bigger than the dyna...just thought there might be a reason behind it rather than “because he can”. And if it’s just that...that’s cool I want one. Geez what’s with everyone here lately.

This thread is too awesome to get in a pissing match over nothing. Never said you dumped on anything all I was saying is sometimes theres no rhyme or reason. People do what they want because they can or thats whats available. Not too hard to see the difference between a Dyna and a bagger. Maybe hes a bigger guy and doesnt wanna be cramped on a Dyna? Maybe performance with the touring options (more fuel, cruise, handling etc?) Could be a myriad or reasons....

I think that particular bike is more of a "because he can". For me personally I like the bags, looks, and 2 up comfort of my bike. If I want to grab my wife and take a road trip, she is bound to complain less on a bagger. Dyna's are fun bikes but to me the gap in performance can be shortened pretty well with some mods.
