So here is the rough version of the mids . Test ride yesterday and everything felt great.
I need to cut the brake arm and round the arm around the linkage so it looks appropriate. I will also move the mounting hole down a smidge so the linkage is level.
I need to detail the bottom of the stock shift lever I cut short and used for the shift side.
Once that's done then everything goes to powder coat to get blacked out.
@gartec81 I like the progress so far, the mounting seems to be very clean compared to other systems out there. How do you have the peg mounts attached to the frame? And what mounts did you use?
Just out of curiosity. While I do see the appeal in having a performance bagger, I find it really strange to see people turning their baggers into a Dyna. Why not just buy a Dyna, and add the bags?

Here is the frame mount and I used 2 left side dyna mid mounts to swoop up outside my exhaust and outside of the primary

Couple reasons:
I'm 6'4 270. I have owned 2 dynas and built them like this. They are just to small of a bike for me
a major riding difference is the swingarm bolts to the frame. Not the transmission like a dyna does. So it shares the thought process as an fxr as far as not having transmission vibrations running through the swingarm.
It's fun turning a bike that wasn't commonly thought I'd as a canyon ripper into one.
For me the fixed fairing gives the wind protection I need plus speakers but is frame mounted so it doesn't have a heavy front end.
Leather pro bags hold way more that standard Harley bags and you don't scrape them in uphill sweepers in the canyons

Did you make that frame mount or is it something that can be purchased? I would do this just to get the foot position. I did something similar when I had a (speaking of) Dyna and put forward controls on it. Here is a link to see what I did.
