I am not sure if someone already answered this but .There is a special brush made for the spokes.
It works extremely well. I would upload a picture of it but I am banned from uploading anything for about another 3 weeks or so.
It is a brush at one end that is thin and then gradually gets thicker and thicker and where it is the thickest you have a handle. A wooden handle.
When you grab the wooden handle, you can take the thin part of the brush and put it between the spokes and go back and forth. I am amazed how well it works.
I replaced my knuckle wheels with 9spoke chromes. I can clean them both in a half hour. I couldn't get the old wheels clean even after four hours of polishing. I di consider chrome swap. They look good. Still have way too many crevasses to clean but at least they'll shine when you're done.
Try S100 Wheel Cleaner, let it sit as directed and a lot of that nasty stuff will rinse off. You can always use a brush on it while it soaks. I also use White Diamond Aluminum polish. It will really clean raw aluminum and leave a protective finish. I have been using it on my Goldwing Wheels for several years and once a year keeps them looking real good.
