Sonax wheel cleaner is the best stuff I've used yet. About $20 a bottle though

Like someone mentioned, there are a lot of take off wheels around that would be easier to clean.

I did this myself, very easy to clean, wax them in the spring. Use that S100 stuff through out the year. When I bought my bike I needed new tires LIKE NOW. So I found a set of take offs with 700 miles on them with the rims cheaper then I could have just put tires on mine so it was a no brainer for me because I never liked the look of the roulette wheels anyways.

Default Cleaning

I have these same wheels (knuckle design) on my 2012 Limited, but they are chrome. I bought the bike with 30K on it. The guy who had it before me must have done a good job keeping them clean as they look like new. Maybe the chrome ones are easier to keep clean because of the finish. I don't' really like the design, they are a pain to wipe down. Will probably swap out for someone's take-offs at some point. The newer wheel designs look a lot better.

Mine was close to that bad, used the Mothers polish and ball pad. Took me a good 3 hrs of work to clean up the front. Will wait for a tire replace to do the back

That’s bare aluminum, grays quick. I used some polishing compound, then clear engine paint. It’s holding up good.
Nothing will last more than a couple years, even chrome. Brake dust is aggressive.

the coating or not + the quality of the aluminum makes all the difference!! having chrome spokes on bikes but on cars some wheels aluminum will never look like new after use, BUT a high quality non porous aluminum like on the $$$ Budnik wheels polished easily to a chrome like finish!!! they were expensive years ago when i got them today they are REALLY expensive!!! thanks to Budweiser + my Visa i ordered a set @ the York street rod show!!!

That wheel would look great with a white wall tire on it!
