I know with the detachable tour pack you have relocation kit that puts them low. My cover fits really well because of that. I’m going to get shorter ones anyway as I like the shorter look and I don’t use anything that requires them anyway. I use Bluetooth to my phone or Sirius which has a different antenna.

had shorty and buried the stock antenna along the frame on my SG. The two FM stations I listen to regular aren't that strong (sports talk) and had terrible reception around town. Ended up putting stock whip back on. On trips, out comes the ipod and ear phones. Looking at some bike-to-bike communicators this winter. Hate the look of the stock antenna, but enjoy my local radio too much to give up!!

I have an antenna similar to this and its totally worthless if you listen to the radio which i rarely do. I used it for a couple days and put the whip back on. It works perfectly.

I guess that it must depend on where you live and ride because I have what looks like that same exact antenna on my "16 SGS and have no problems at all listening to the radio.

Please don’t waste your money!

Unscrew the stock antenna and run it through the fender then under your seat, tie wrap it in place! Then spend $3 at the dealer for the rubber cover to match the other side.

Now you you have an antenna delete with full reception!

My experience doing this was quite different. Lousy reception.

Have you used it with the CB? I don't use mine a lot but I like having it on trips when I'm on the interstate or federal highways. It comes in handy to keep up with traffic problems.
