I'm back for another project.
I have a 2010 Electra Glide and it's a winter project. I'd like to put a 23 inch wheel on the front and some stretched bags.
I appreciate some recommendations not only what I need as far as parts and your experience doing this but also where to buy the parts.
I'm thinking I'll need to change the rake whether by changing the triple trees or a bolt on neck.
Stretched bags with the rear fender. I'll use the bike on trips so I really don't want super stretched.
I don't mind spending the cash for good stuff.
I think I've read that Street Glide rear shocks are about 1 inch lower than the Electra Glide, is that correct?
Fuel Moto 110 kit, opinions reviews? Dealt with Fuel Moto a couple of times and have been very happy.
Not a cheap project but it's cheaper than a new Harley.
Thanks for reading and for opinions in advance.
Fuel Moto is a quality business that sells very good big bore kits and they have great customer service. I'd say they are always a safe bet on getting a quality big bore.
Street Glide shocks are 12" and Electra Glide shocks are 13".
I can't give you any advice about raking the front end. I have no experience in that area.
Stretched bags are something I've never dealt with either.
Fuelmoto has a decent selection of parts to choose from, they can sell you the engine, tuning, and suspension stuff all in one purchase. Did a FM 107 Hellraiser clone with a few differences, and combined with their tuning software it runs like a bat out of hell! Never did the bodywork but was eyeballing TopShop extended bags until i realized that i am too rough with my bike to make it too nice. Bike is configured as an Ultra with TourPak mounted and also carry full tools in one saddle bag. Am running FLHX sized rear Ohlins but am looking to upgrade the rears to 13"+ fully adjustable shocks and different front suspension components. I still get a bit of wobble now that i am going faster, and am tired of scraping my floorboards in turns...
Check out a fender cover rather than an entire fender. I got one from an outfit called Gator Boxes. $375 shipped. Had to be painted. The stock rear fender stays right on the bike. It's just a cover. It looked great like a fender, and matched up perfectly with 5" stretched bags from Fairing Factory. Saved alot of money.
