Default Front Brake lever?

I went to ride my 10 Ultra Ltd. yesterday and the front brake lever is rock solid, I can not move it at all. The day before it felt a little funny but worked ok. I use my front brakes a lot so I need to get this figured out before riding season . Thanks for help RB

If you have abs, very good possibility that it is an abs hcu problem. Please report this to the NHTSA if it is a failed abs unit.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...formation.html

You can try a few things first to verify if it is the abs hcu. Press brake lever while loosening a front caliper bleeder screw. I lever does not move, then loosen brake line where it enters the hcu. If fluid flows and lever moves, your abs hcu is frozen. Be careful with the dot 4 on paint. Wash it off asap or it will ruin paint.

Welcome to the frozen lever or pedal club. Yes, the early ABS units crap out and create a hydraulic lock situation rendering either the front or rear brake useless. It's not the mo-co's fault though, it's your fault for not changing the brake fluid every two years. I'm surprised nobody hasn't gotten hurt yet. Dead men don't talk. Report to NHTSA and check in on the thread "How many frozen brake levers and pedals?"

Sorry been out of the loop for a while. Is this something I can fix myself or is this one of those things that has to go back to dealer?
Thanks RB

You can source and replace parts yourself but either a dealer or an Indy with the right computer will need to flush a new ABS unit.
It won't be cheap either way. I've seen reports of dealers charging $1200 to $1400 for it.

Its certainly possible to change everything out and "try" to bleed the brakes. Worse case, you can not get them completely bled and have to pay the dealer ~1 hour, some reported less depends on dealer, to bleed with digi tech. Thats what I'd do. A fellow rider and forum member has a digi tech and did mine.

Did you verify the abs hcu is locked up?
