Another satisfied 08 FLHTC owner here. Comp has been done. Batteries and Tires no other major issues. Oh and yes I replaced the fairing brackets as mine did break from vibration. Also has added Tru-Track.

Going off the top of my head but correct me if i'm wrong...FLHTC (classic) like mine means no lowers...no intercom/CB...no rear speakers?

the title states FLHTC/I its a electra glide classic standard

far as i can tell and from what i was told, no tour pak, no cruise control, no air & oil gauge, engine case color, polished not chrome engine covers, no bumpers, no fender emblems, no CB or AM/FM radio and i think wheels are different

got the report from harley service $2500 in maintenance tires, brakes, all fluids changed, replace clutch cable $890 just parts cost rest is labor/tax $180 to just hook up the rear speakers that are just unplugged since the tour pak is on a quick release mount

I told the service writer i'll be doing the maintenance on it myself just wanted it inspected to make sure there was no major issues with it

moving forward with the purchase looking forward to wrenching and riding it

Great googly moogly! Talk about greedy. It is great that you can do all the required maintenance yourself. It will be a good way for you to get to know her better. Enjoy the bike.

Mine is a 07 with 98000 miles, I did swap the motor at 92000 only because I got a killer deal on one and sold mine,,,I have had some issues but nothing that can’t be fixed...I am keeping the bike for a long time... same as yours really except for tank size. Good luck and enjoy.

Bought my ‘08 in 2014 with 17k on it. At 22k the crank seal went bad and leaked oil slowly until it filled the primary and burned the clutch up. During that time, especially when cold, it clunked pretty good going into first and drug in gear so bad even after adjustment I could seldom find neutral. Finally replaced the crank seal and clutch - $750 fix but runs like a top now!!

I bought my '08 Ultra brand new and put 40k very gentle miles on it. The motor had never seen 4,000 rpm even once. Extremely reliable. First year of throttle by wire had a few glitches, just learn the reset procedure when it starts idling high. 2008 is a one off in several respects. Old frame (more or less from the early 80s) but 6 gallon tank which means it uses newer seats. I was more than a little angry when they released an entirely new touring chassis the very next year. I will never buy a brand new bike again because of that. Buying used you know exactly where you stand.

As gentle as I was on the bike, the compensator was starting to act up on just about every start. The clutch also was never the smoothest, I believe also due to the stock compensator.

Rather than fix it, I traded it in for a low mileage Rushmore Limited. Many factory improvements on that bike I can tell you.

Is it still at the dealer? I just remembered there was a recall on the fuel filter assembly on the 08's. Ask the service writer to check the records and see if it was done to your bike. Wish I would have mentioned it in my previous post.
