The voltage reading on my 2012 street glide are all wonky while running. It starts up fine but fluctuates from 10v-16v while riding. Is this a battery issue or something else in charging system? I heard this model year had a recall on the voltage rectifiers.
Could be sooo many things.
If you do your own work there are instructions on troubleshooting in the FSM, on this site, on YouTube and the internet in general. Get a good volt meter and dig in.
Or take it to a shop....

We have a couple of Stickies in the Tech Electrical section, which will help diagnose any charging problems. Also be aware that the stock voltmeter isn't very accurate and you should check what is going on with a multimeter. Be silly to replace the regulator if there is a dodgy connection to your bike's voltmeter!
So check your voltmeter first, then the charging circuit using the Stickies.
Although it could be you voltage regulator my 2011 SG does this all the time.
Had it checked at the shop and they found nothing wrong.
Also checked myself with a volt meter and everything read fine.
Mechanic told me these gauges are very cheap and are prone to malfunction.
Mine will jump around at first then peg at 16 for the remainder of the ride.

Thanks for the help! -Matt
mine did that when failing. Was replaced under the recall. Ask your dealer.
if you did need to replace yourself, the part isn't that expensive. Under $100
