07RG,

This is great, thanks! I'm gonna pour over this a spell, then see if I can man up and try it myself.

I assume it wouldn't be wildly different for an 07 RoadKing.

And to think I was wondering what I was doing at this forum reading all the "Do you like PB&J with or without crusts?" threads.
Installing it on your'07 RK shouldn't be much different then the one I installed on my '06 RK. Below is another link with good info.

Always glad to help. I know I was seriously P.O.'d at the HD directions, so I documented and made something that would be somewhat useable.

TinFoil - to add to what you've already read: You don't need to use the longer bolts and spacers that the directions state for Road King Classicsfor the rear docking area. At least I didn'tfor an '07. I dutifully put them on as instructed but it pushed the bags out WAY too far. So, I took them off and there's plenty of clearance using the "standard" bolts the intructions use for "non-FLHRCs".

did my first side in about an hour. then stood back and realized that since i followed the directions, i had the wrong bracket on that side. putting it on the second time was about 20 min. then i was an old pro on the other side. 3rd times a charm, right?

i had looked over 07RoadGlides stuff before i tried it too. good instructions

dont be afraid if you have left over parts. you should.

Man am I glad I looked here before getting the parts to do this job! Think I saved myself 4 hours in advance and probable 8 - 10 beers...lol. Can any of you post pics of your bikes with the sissy bar on? I bought an '07 Road Glide yesterday and really want to put the detachable sissy bar on. I would like to see what the bike looks like with it in place.

TIA,
simcom

Resurrecting this one...

I have a 2007 electra glide cvo. Has the quick disconnect mounts for the tour pack. From what I’m gathering is there needs to be a similar setup in front of these. I still want to be able to use the tour pack if I take the sissy bar off. Is this possible. Does anyone have any pictures of this? What part number are you all discussing in here?

thanks for the help.

Yes, there are 2 separate sets of docking hardware required.
The front set is for a sissy bar & the rear set for a Tour-pak.

It looks like you only have the rear set mounted on your bike at the moment.

The part # you need is 53803-06.

My finger is pointing to docking point #1, which tucks in tight.
