Funny , my brother just traded his 05 Gold Wing in on a 07 UC last week. I believe he is a little sick now because of all the power and handling he gave up. If you haven't already found this site there is alot of info here atwww.gl1800riders.com . Personally I don't care what anybody rides , as long as your happy riding whatever you ridethats all that matters.
Congrats on your new wing. As long as you ride, that's all that matters. Just don't think you will see the same on the GL1800riders.comsite. They have a forum call Harley vs Wing that mostly all they do is try and bash Harley's.I feel sorry for the those kind of narrow minded people.
I gave up a 2005 Wing for the 2007 SG. I love the SG but the Wing handled like a 900 lb sport bike. It was amazing. Do I want to go back to it? No. THe Harley is just different. I like it. Congrats on the Wing. Ride the twisties.
Enjoy your new Wing. I had an 03 GL1800 and loved it but let my friends talk me in to an 06 Ultra.Man was I dissapointed. Now that I've had the Ultra for a year and 13,000 miles I still miss my Wing. I'm looking for another one.
You are right about comparing apples to oranges. I put 89,000+ miles on my 1993 Gold Wing before buying my Street Glide. I loved every mile I put on it. Then I bought the SG and the wing just sat in the corner of the garage. I sold it and have never regretted it. The SG for me is a much more exciting ride. It just suits my needs now better than the wing did. The Wing is a much better ride for the misses but for me the seating & leg arrangement on the SG is more comfortable. Of course I had to buy the wife her own bike since she did not like the back of the SG but that has worked out great too.
If you can't handle the noises a Honda is the way to go. I love my H-D's Chevy's and Budwiser. It is only a motorcycle. Freedom of being an American. Take pride in what you own. Be happy and safe
