As understand it SERT is basically a set of cables, a black box and a CD. If you want to use maps suppled by HD, a simple rider with a bit of computer expertise should be able to download those maps to the bike. Dyno required for fine tuning....
Missing anything?
Correct! reminder it to check the AFR via the plugs for aftermarket (non-HD) accessories since the supplied maps with the SERT are only designed for HD accessories and aftermarket may require different settings. also, the maps are "close" in settings for the bikes. every bike runs a bit different, so a dyno tune is the way to go to maximize the performance.
From what I have read the Thundermax is the way to go! It is a bit more pricey at about $900. It uses a base map much like the PCIII but will autotune on the fly based on the exhaust that it sniffs. It is an entire replacement of the current ECM and not a piggy back device. It too can be easily programmed much like the PCIII but with more advanced options.
