Default more shocks .....

So the Moco adjustable shocks ...are they better than the air shocks?
Also will the newer 12 inch fit my old road king?
A member has a set for sale on here for a good price.....just don't want to waste my money.

I am pretty sure they will fit but if you can, hold out wait and watch for something better. I picked up a set of Progressive shocks for my 2001 Road King for a nice price.

Be careful with the older Road Kings - I read a cautionary story somewhere, where the older RK swingarm design was not built to hold up to the newer HD premium shocks, where one side is different than the other, and they balance each other through the swingarm.

don’t know what year your road king is but I just put a set of stock 2017 rgu shocks on my 2012 limited and they work great. Wayyyy better then those crapper air shocks. I do believe if your 09 or newer you have the same frame I do.

02 is when the swing arm was beefed up to accommodate the 1" axle. I had the conversion done.

Wink

The '09 and later bikes have a much stiffer swingarm than earlier models, so IMHO the later shocks which are different each side are not suitable. There are plenty of suitable options in the aftermarket.

By way of explanation, current practice for high-end suspension is to separate compression damping and rebound damping. As an example Ohlins fork cartridges for our Glides (FKC101 for 41mm forks, FKC102 for 49mm forks) come with compression in one fork leg, rebound in the other. H-D has been clever introducing the same feature in some of their shocks. It allows our suspension to react much more quickly to bumps and thumps than suspension in old style shocks/forks, so we should get a much better ride.
