Default Upgrading exhaust system on 07 RKC

I am new to this forum and thought I would start out by asking a question:

I am very interested in changing out the stock duals on my Road King Custom for a pair that annouce my arrival or my passing though with a bit more bass than thestock ones that came with it.

I have looked at Vance & Hines, Rinehardt, D&D, Kerker, among others. I have checked out every RKC that I spied out on runs and checked out the pipes they had. I even awaited the owners arrival to hear what they sounded like.

I know I will need to add a ProPak or similar mod to adjust for the loss of back pressure with almost all of the upgrades.

My question is for those who have exhaust upgrades, A) Which pipes are you running, B) Are you satified with the throatiness of their sound, C) Are you satisfied with their performance, D) What other upgraded were needed to get your RKC to where you wanted it to be?

Ok... I know I said one question. Just ended up with multiple parts.

Any input is appreciated.

Exhaust is a "ME THING"... Go to a HD event (bike nite - poker run - ets...) put your ears to work for you... When you hear the sound you're looking for ASK the rider questions... Or try a SEARCH as exhaust questions here are almost as many threads as Oil Questions...

I also have a 07 rkc would I would also like for it to sound more throaty. I get comments that my bike is a Honda Davidson. Yea the comments bothers me. I do under stand the sound is a " me Thing" so here is my questions,

1. Is there such a thing as a Budget exhaust mod? something that would get me by, until i can afford the whole deal.

2. What would the average cost for a standard system be? I am sure there is more involved than putting slip-ons on.

Thanks.

Do a search on this website on "Rush" exhaust. A Rush exhaust, PC III, and intake filter package (from Fuelmoto.com) ain't much more than the cost of just the exhaust from players like V&H, D&D, etc. And they sound REAL good. But you have to hear them in person. My local HD dealer sells them, maybe yours does too (for much more than the WEB of course). Call them and ask if they got any bikes you can hear.[8D]

Thanks for the input guys. I know the sound and performance is ultimately a "me thing". I just wanted to hear from others to see what works for them.

A friend picked up a Pig exhaust kit for cheap and it sounds good. I never heard of 'em before so there is some apprehension on using something I am unfamiliar with.

There are a lot of exhaust systemsI knowabout and more that I have heard and seen, performance-wise.

Just fishing for ideas from others who know what works for them.

Thanks!

I put on Sampson drag fishtails. Only $150,and are louder than anything else I have heard, and I love the look. At some point I might replace them with a true dual set up, or the fat cats with the ghost pipe. But, for now, I love them.

If you want a deep and loud sound, listen to a Thunderheader. The 2 into 1 is the best performer but they also make slip-ons if you want to keep the duals. Samson exhausts also produce a nice sound.
