i am still not sure that I need everything in this kit....And it might not include the screws and copper washers I would choose to replace in the bottom of the fork legs, securing the fork to the dampener tube or new cartridge.....

So those Drag specialties kits cover many models and some parts your not going to use , they also leave out the new damper bolts and copper crush washers. Those kits aren't much of a bargain when I can find the HD kits for Rushmore bikes online for $30ea , don't know the part # for the 41mm tubes so I havn't searched it.
Bottom line is if you just putting springs in you should disassemble , thoroughly clean , and rebuild the forks , springs and oil take the place of nothing in the rebuild kit , and why not since your gonna be right there anyway , then you know your forks are good for a while.
