Default lowering my 05 EG?

OK guys, i've did the search thing and found a few answers, but not enough to satisfy me. i want to lower JUST the rear of my EG. i've heard that the StreetGlide's are lower that the EG's, and you can do the lowering bracket thing (of which i don't know what brand is best), and a few other ways. i would like to see some pictures and what type of lowering that you guys went with. if a few of you guys that have lowered your bikes could post what brand, how much lower, and a pic of before and after. that would be a great help. thanks in advance guys,

later,

wanna

ps btw my bike is an 05 EG standard, so if you know something won't fit right or something won't work, please let me know, thanks again.

I lowered my RG and my EG using progressive 12" HD shocks. I am very happy with it. The street glide uses 12" air shocks instead of the standard 13".

I recently added a set of 12 inch Works Performance shocks to my '05 Ultra. The biggest noticeable difference was with the kickstand. I would have to conciously lean the bike slightly to the right to deploy the kickstand, and the bike didn't lean to the left quite as far when on the stand.
The ride quality was equal, maybe slightly firmer with the Works shocks but not a big difference at all. These are the top of the line Works shocks that have the ARS (Adjustable Rate Suspension) spring system.
I did not notice a significant change in seat height.
I was at the HUB over Memorial Day weekend and rode quite a bit in that area, so you know exactly what I'm talking about in terms of road conditions(Ozarks, lots of twisties) . My bike handled far better with the Works shocks and surprisingly did NOT scrape the floorboards any more than with the stock 13 inch air shocks. And I am a fairly aggressive rider in the curves. I think all of this points to a higher quality shock that doesn't have as much "SAG" as the stock shocks and has better damping action.
3 weeks before the HUB trip I had run the Talimena trail on the stock shocks. It was fairly easy to get the bike to start wallowing in the corners under aggressive cornering. With the Works shocks I was scraping the floorboards hard and never had the wallowing sensation. The bike felt more "planted" in the corners and I'm sure that my corner speeds were higher. Needless to say, when I traded my '05 for a new '07 I kept the Works shocks and they will be going on the new bike very soon.
I think a set of these shocks (or Progressive 440s) in the 13 inch length would be a big improvement over stock.

thanks warhawk, i'm looking to lower my seat height about an inch, maybe just a tad more. i drag my floorboards ever now and then. but i do live on the coast on flat roads, so i'm thinking i'll drag them off in the mountains back home. some i'm looking at getting a better shock, but i also want to lose about an inch in seat height. your works sounds about what i was looking for until you said, "I did not notice a significant change in seat height". but thanks for the info, i might go with them anyway, because of the better handling. i went from my sporty to my EG, so i ride this bagger pretty hard, all my buddies say i look like a stick figure on a dumptruck with NOS. (146lbs of whoop ***). thanks again,

well either way i go, which i would like to go 1 inch, at least, lower than i am now. i've heard a lot about the shock thing. but i've not heard so much about the shock relocater brackets. if i got those then i would keep my air ******, but i've heard that their not the way to go. so if i get the progressive's then i loose the two up? i bought this bike partly for the two up thing. [:@]to many options.
